Wieter Boone, a research engineer at VLIZ, leads the Marine Robotics Centre, dedicated to polar oceanography and advancing measurement techniques and autonomous observational platforms for marine research.
Wieter lived and worked in Canada and Greenland during his academic career. His expertise lies in combining field measurements with modeling studies, gained through participation in multiple cruises, field campaigns, and monitoring activities worldwide.
After being a student representative at Arctic Science Partnership, he now joins APECS as a mentor and looks forward to use his network, energy and enthusiasm to advance polar science in Belgium..
