APECS Belgium polar scientists' networking event: New Frontiers of Polar Belgian Research

APECS Belgium would like to invite all fellow polar scientists working in Belgium to our first annual networking event ! You will have the opportunity to mingle with a drink in hand after hearing about the New Frontiers of Polar Belgian Research with our guest speakers. If you're keen, you can also visit the incredible Seas & Oceans art exhibit organized by Talk CEC, to which APECS Belgium participated!

Programme:

• 5-6 pm - Conference New Frontiers of Polar Belgian Research Mieke Sterken (Outreach and Education Coordinator at the International Polar Foundation and mentor of APECS Be) will talk about her experience with science communication and the history and continuation of polar science outreach in Belgium and beyond; Alexandre Buslain and Nathan Goffart (Nanok Expedition) will talk about using their experience in Greenland in educating the wider public about the poles as well as present new projects to come. A short Q & A discussion will close the conference
• 6-8 pm - Mingle with fellow scientists! There will be a bar in the atrium where you can buy drinks (softs, kombucha, wine, beer). We encourage you to visit the Seas & Oceans art exhibit upstairs (10€ fee, giving you access for a month).
