I am a PhD student at Ghent University. I am working on DNA sequencing data (mainly metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data) from Arctic and Antarctic soils and lakes. The goal of my project is to study the diversity and functioning of microbial communities in polar lakes and soils and how these communities respond to environmental changes as a result of climate change. We are specifically focusing on genes involved in nutrient and carbon cycling.
